The castle, characterizing all parts of the Southern basin of Olbia, dominates the landscape, rising up from rocks 89 metres high.

According to most versions, the castle dates back to between 1296 and 1322, during the period of Pisano - Aragonese domination, and more precisely, during the accession of the Visconti family.

To reach the castle from Olbia take the road for Loiri, follow it for 3.3 km then turn right, taking the off-road track. After 2 km one reaches a car park beneath the castle. Follow the trail which leads upwards to the monument.
